Intro – Wismec Reuleaux Tinker Kit Review
What’s up, everyone? DeucesJack at vapinginsider.com.
I got a new Wismec Reuleaux for you. That’s right, I said Reuleaux. We haven’t seen a Reuleaux in a while. This one is the new one in the Reuleaux series. Check out that stubby, chunky, chubby looking mod. This is the wismec reuleaux tinker kit review. 300W triple battery mod, new Wismec screen, new menu system, comes with the column tank and two mesh coils. It’s got that retro. Look at that. See that retro Jordan type of skin on it? I guess they went with a sneaker type of theme on it. I don’t know man, I’ve never been into sneakers but I know there are tons of people that are. So if that’s your thing, you’re going to want to check this video out.
Let’s cut down low. Let me show you everything up close and personal. We’re going to come back on top. We’re going to talk about it, chat about it, cons, pros and we’re out of here. I’m going to see you down low.
Welcome to the down low portion of this video. Today, we’re going to be going over the Wismec Reuleaux Tinker. As you can see, I have a sample. Let’s check this thing out. Look at the packaging on this, man. Wismec up their packaging game. There’s some social media. some Wismec branding, some more Wismec branding and some stuff about the column tank. On the back, let you know exactly what’s in the kit. Pause it here if you want to read it. There is your scratch and check.
Now look at how they did this. It’s kind of cool. You get one box. That’s the Tinker and then the other box is the Column sub ohm tank. Kind of cool the way they did that. Let’s put the Tinker on the side for a second.
Let’s go over the tank.
Here we go. Look at this beauty. They did a nice job on this tank. Check that out, see that drip tip, though? That drip tip, that’s the biggest con on this tank. That drip tip comes out way too easy. But look at that, white and red. Kind of neat the way they did that. We’re going to put that on deck for a second.
Let’s go over the rest of the contents of the box. Inside, you get a Column owner’s manual. You also get another box inside the box and inside that box, you get some spare o-rings. You get a spare glass which is a, it’s almost like a bubble glass. Got some nice capacity on this thing. This is the new WL coil. It’s a mesh coil inside. You probably can’t see it because it’s a pretty long coil. Almost reminds me of like a Clio style coil but instead of having regular wire, it’s got mesh in there. This is the 0.16 ohm coil. Good for 30 to 100W. Let me tell you something, this thing’s got some good flavor. Some nice knurling over here so you can get a grip. You can see, nice nice-looking coil. Threads in through the top and also threads into the bottom.
Here is the tank.
Now check this thing out. Look at this glass. 6.5 ml capacity. Bottom airflow tank. Like the matching drip tip. The problem with the drip tip, it comes out way too easy. It’s just too loose. Wismec, you gotta shore that up. You really do.
As far as filling the tank up, you got your mark right there. It’s a slider style tank right there. Nice fill port. You can fit most juice bottles. I’ve even been able to use bullnose bottles on this one,. It’s not bad because it’s nice and wide. No locking mechanism but it does have a little bit of resistance to it. I wish it had a locking mechanism. This stuff right here, this looks like knurling. It’s more like faux knurling. It’s kind of there for design. It’s really not rough. There’s really no need to have it there, except for aesthetics but it’s there. It’s also on the bottom right here. This is a bottom airflow tank. Adjustable with stoppers on both ends. Whatever you adjust on one side happens on the other side. I like the white, gray and pinkish, reddish hue type of color combo there. That’s kind of neat. Kind of different. Column RDA on the bottom. Stainless steel 510. Insulator ring around it. Stainless steel threading around that. Also some Wismec branding.
Now in order to access your coil, like every other sub ohm tank, you just give it a twist on the bottom here and the coil comes out with the base. If you want to replace the coil, you take the coil out of the base and put in your new coil. I’ve ran about seven or eight tanks through this already and I’m still getting good flavor. Definitely been enjoying this tank.I haven’t had any leaking issues or anything like that. In order to install the base back on, you just give it another twist right there and boom! You’re installed and you’re ready to fill it up.
In fact, let’s do that right now. Juice we’re going to be using today is Obie’s Brew Fluff. I think I got this at one of the vape shows. It’s a really nice juice. If I remember correctly, the guy I got it from is from England. Really nice juice. It’s a s’mores without the chocolate. Kind of cool. I like that because I haven’t yet been able to find the chocolate vape that I actually like so this is just like basically marshmallow and graham cracker. Real simple but really nice. Especially in the winter. This also goes nice with a cup of coffee. Just a real real solid juice. It really is. You can see this tank? They say it takes 6.5 ml as a liquid but I gotta tell you, it feels like more. It really does. This thing holds a ton of juice. It really does. Once you’re done filling it, slide that top cap back. Put in that drip tip and now you’re ready to vape.
Let’s go over the mod.
This is the Reuleaux tinker. Check it out. On the back, let’s know what’s going on there. Let’s pull the cardboard sleeve off. Pop the top and let’s see what we got here. Mod comes out like that. Look at that. That’s a chunky looking son of a gun. Little chubster. Let’s put that on deck for a second.
You get another box over here with a micro USB cable in it. Let me show it to you. Nice long micro USB cable. I kinda like that. This is for charging and updates. You also get a battery warning card and a Reuleaux Tinker owner’s manual.
As usual, let’s start off on top. You got three star screws holding the top plate of the mod in place. There is your Reuleaux emblems. Some of you may recognize that. Spring loaded, gold-plated 510 that I would say, has a long and loose throw to it. A little bit of an indentation over here. That’s kind of cool. Just in case you’re a sloppy dripper, you don’t necessarily have everything running down the side of the mod. They did a nice job on that.
The 510 actually is pretty decent on this . It’s been reading resistances more accurately than some of my other Wismec mods. I love the design on this. You got the gray right here. You got some board venting. You got this kind of different color over there. This plastic piece is actually really nice. It says Reuleaux tinker. I just wish they would have roughed this part up a little bit. It’s a little too smooth for my liking. I wish they would have roughed it up so you could feel the change and textures on it. But they did a nice job. This thing feels nice in the hand but it is very chunky and very chubby. It really is.
Here are your buttons right here.
Fire button. Got a little bit of a ledge over there. I kind of like that. Got a little bit of texture to it. This is your screen, your plus button, your minus button, your micro USB port for charging and updates. On the bottom, we got plenty of venting. It’s one of these door that you push down and slide out. There are your battery indicator markings right there. Those should be done in white. Wismec, you should know better than that. Gold-plated button style contacts over there. Look at this, I don’t know if you can see that, but on the bottom, they got plus and minus buttons. Gold-plated, spring-loaded buttons there.
You see that little black piece between the two plus signs right there? You see that? It’s kind of like a plastic splitter that keeps the batteries on their respective sides. That’s kind of neat. I’ve never seen that before. That’s a little different. Let’s load some batteries in this thing. We’re going to go negative side up. Negative side up. Positive side up. Shut your door. Push it down, push it in, no rattles. You can put your mod down. Door doesn’t pop open. They did a nice job on that.
There is your screen.
Check out that new screen. That new Wismec screen. Definitely on the dark side. I wish it was a little brighter. The fonts are little too small for me too. I also wish they would have banged out that font a little bit. Made a little bigger instead of having all these different colors there. But it’s a good looking, well laid out screen. Here is your resistance right here. That is your volts. That is the mode you’re in. The wattage you have. The time and the amount of puffs.
You got three separate battery meters on the bottom there. They’re in green. I don’t know if they’re showing up well on camera. Let’s see if we can get that closer. See it there? They’re there. Trust me, they’re just hard to see.
In order to access your menu system, you hit the button three times. You go into mode. You got the choice between power, TC and TCR. We’ll keep it in power mode. In TC mode, you can pick between TEMP NI, TEMP TI, TEMP SS. If you’re going to stainless steel mode, you’ll see your screen change. Resistance, Watts, TC, Fahrenheit. That’s 450 stainless steel. There’s your time. There’s your puffs.
Now here in TC mode. You’re in TC stainless steel and you want to adjust the wattage. There’s no way to shortcut it. It says 300 watts there. Nobody vapes in 300 watts in TC, right? So now you want to adjust the wattage. 1, 2, 3, you got to go to Set and then you can lock your resistance there and here where it says Power, that’s where you can adjust your power. Let me put it down in to 40W. Now you’ll see when we go back, the wattage adjusted to 40W, 500 degrees.
That’s a little bit of a con. I don’t like that there’s no shortcut. I wish they would have made it like 4 clicks and that blinks and then this way, I could adjust the wattage, but they didn’t. Hit the button three times again. Go into the set mode and there’s where you can go into stealth mode, right there. You can turn it on or off. Go back into settings menu, right here. Now you can pick your coil, your power, stealth mode. You can pick your subterra. What you want to show, Puffs, time or amps. I normally put puffs on there. Go past Subterra. You have a clock feature. You have preheat. You have timeout and you have exit.
One thing that they did weird about the clock feature is they put it in the mode menu. This is the clock feature and how you want to add it onto your screen, you can add it in digital form or point form. So let’s say we hit digital. Now the middle of my screen is a digital clock. It’s kind of weird, the way they did that. I don’t like that. Why did they put that in the mode area? I just don’t understand it. So put it back to power and that clock disappears. 1, 2, 3, go back into the main menu. There is your info. Your battery info was right there. Go back into info. There’s your version and there’s your exit. And here, you can exit the main menu system.
It’s a simple menu system but it’s a little bit wacky. Has a couple of little curveballs in it but not bad. Definitely better than the old school Wismec screen that everybody’s getting sick of. I like the improvement. I like the little bubbles that they used here. That’s kind of neat. I just wish the fonts were a little bigger but otherwise, not a bad screen. Not a bad menu system.
I wanted to do a quick size comparison of the Reuleaux series. This is the first Reuleaux, the old school one. the DNA one. Look at the difference. Look at the difference in height. This one’s a little wider but look at how far it’s come. You see how this thing is a little bit more? This one’s curvier. This one’s got a little bit more flat edges. Look, even the curve on the back, the curve on here is much wider. It’s a lot different. This mod and this form factor has progressed an awful lot. Look at the top. See? Very, very different the way they did that and I kind of liked it. I just thought it would be interesting to show the way the Reuleaux series has evolved.
Here’s a look at it. All put together. You can see, nice-looking kit. It really is. They did a nice job with this one. It’s very girthy though. This is a little chunkster. It really is. This is a chubby little mod. Has some nice heft to it, but that’s because you got three batteries in it. But I got to tell you, it’s a comfortable form factor. Definitely more comfortable than the old school Reuleaux because of these little carve outs here. Your hand fits. They did a nice job on this. They really, really did. I’m very impressed with this. It’s a nice looking kit. The blue one is absolutely stunning.
Let’s cut back on top. Let’s vape on it. Let’s talk about it. We’ll go over cons and pros and then we’re out of here. See you back on top.
What’s in the Box
- 1 Wismec Reuleaux Tinker
- 1 COLUMN Tank
- 2 0.15ohm WL01 Single Coil
- 1 QC USB Cable
- 2 User Manuals
- 2 Warning Card
- 1 Bag of Spare Parts
We’re back on top with the Wismec Tinker Kit. Nice form-factor. Love the contours on it. It’s a chubby little mod but it feels great in the hand. I love the new Wismec interface on it. Nice clicky buttons. The fire button on this thing is just phenomenal. The tank has good flavor, it really does. It’s a what you would classify as a typical mesh coil.
The problem with the coil is either they’re not rated accurately or they pack too much cotton into this thing. But let me tell you something, you go over 60 watts on this thing, it’s supposed to be a hundred watt coil. You go over sixty watts on it, you take like three four hits in a row, and this thing, you will get some nasty dry hits from it. So Wismec, you got to shore up the quality of these coils because they have good flavor but this thing dry hit like a son of a gun. I just don’t like the coils. The flavor I like. It’s the fact that it dry hits a lot, it’s an issue. It really is. You guys got to fix that, Wismec. There’s something going on there. It’s not just one coil. I tried both coils and both coils do it so you got to fix that, Wismec.
I love the way they match the tank to the mod. They did a great job on that. The mod measures in at 44 x 56 x 128mm. It weighs 268g. 25mm tanks fit on it with no overhang. I wish they would have centered that 510. I know it would have made it a little taller but it’s short enough where they could have added a couple of millimeters and put that 510 in the middle. I wish they would have done that.

Let’s get into the cons and pros because there’s quite a few cons but there’s also quite a few pros. This one’s going to be a tough decision as to whether you want to buy it or not. Let’s get into it.
First con’s going to be the coils have a hard time keeping up over 60W. I already covered that. That’s a big problem. Wismec, you got to get on that.
It’s big, It’s chubby, it’s chunky. That’s going to be a con for some people.
The battery indicators on the battery door need to be in white. That’s a con.
The font on the screen is a little too small. It’s hard to see, sometimes. They should have made the font just a little bigger and got rid of all that red on the outside.
The top fill on the tank has no locking system. That’s a con.
The drip tip on the tank is extremely loose. Another con.
And the other thing, I want to just warn you about. I’m not really going to list it as a con but I want to warn you about it. If you’re a TC vaper, be careful with this out of the box because out of the box, the TC wattage is set at 300W. So just be careful on that. I showed you in the menu system how to change the wattage in TC but make sure you know before you run a TC coil on this, you knock that wattage down.
Let’s get on to the pros.
First pro is going to be it’s a good-looking kit. It matches well. I like that. That’s a pro.
Two coils included, pro.
Spare glass, nice capacity. We’ll give them a pro for that.
Clicky buttons. That’s a pro.
I like the different textures and contours on the mod. They did a really nice job on that. Feels awesome in the hand. We’re going to give them a pro on that.
Good battery door. We’ll give them a pro on that.
Nice screen layout. That’s a pro.
Simple menu system, another pro.
This one actually does serviceable TC. This is the first Wismec mod I’ve gotten in a long time that does not actually kick me out of TC. I’m not saying the TC’s the greatest because it’s not but it’ll do TC without kicking you out. It’ll do serviceable TC. So we’re going to give him a pro for that. Nice to see you’re finally listening, Wismec. It’s been a couple of years now. You really need to get on this a little heavier but it’s nice to see you’re making progress.
Great battery life. We’re going to give them a pro on that.
The clock function, I like. That’s a pro.
2 amp charging. We don’t recommend it in a triple battery mod but it’s good to have it in a pinch. We’ll give them a pro for that.
The last Pro is this menu system. The mod itself has plenty of bells and whistles. You got curve mode, you got preheat, you got all the TC’s. You can do all kinds of things with this. I like the features in it. We’re going to give them a pro on that.
At the end of the day, my final thoughts are, it’s a good-looking mod. People who are into sneakers and those retro Jordans, they’re going to go nuts over this thing and they’re going to love it. It’s unique looking. It really is. Even if you’re not into sneakers you might like the look of it. I love the blue one. I wish they would have sent me the blue one because the blue one is drop-dead gorgeous. I’m not sure how Nike is going to feel about them doing the whole retro Jordan thing but I like it. I like the look of it. I like the kit. It’s a serviceable triple battery mod kit. It’s all up to you whether you like the looks and whether you want to go out and buy it.
